Becoming a volunteer firefighter is a great way to challenge yourself, learn valuable skills, be in the middle of the excitement and give back to the community. You'll be part of a dedicated team of professionals from all walks of life who choose to serve thier fellow citizens. From students to seniors, we are always looking for qualified applicants.
|Volunteers attend a training drill every Wednesday night for two hours, and at least one 8-hour Saturday training session per year. You can be as active as you choose, and with over a thousand alarms a year, there are many opportunities to answer the call. In addition to drills, there are many other opportunites to learn skills, ranging from Emergency Medicine to specialized rope rescue to helicopter operations.|
Becoming a Volunteer Firefighter is not for everyone. Honesty, a healthy sense of adventure, the ability to work as part of a team, the desire to push yourself to learn new skills and rise to meet physical challenges are all important aspects.
