Hotlines
Newport Police Department offers two ways you can report additional information for criminal activity that has occurred, using our anonymous Hotline telephone, or by sending a text message to our Text-A-Tip cell phone number.
Anyone who has information concerning a homicide, drug activity, guns, or other violent offenses can call the hotline, or send a text message.
Text messages are monitored by members of the department. Tips are then analyzed and passed on to the appropriate unit or division for follow-up. The sender will not receive a response to the original message, or be contacted by Newport Police Department
Provide as much detail as possible about the incident or activity: the situation, location, time of day, suspect descriptions, and any related vehicle information.
Neither of these hotlines are an emergency number. If you witness a crime in progress or have an emergency that requires the police, please call 911.
