This Arthritis Foundation instruction of evidence-based exercises is a gentle,
self-led class of movement exercises to help enhance and improve
overall wellness and balance. Key socialization activities supportive to good health are a plus. Wear comfortable shoes. This class is free, and beginners and
drop-ins are welcome.
This free class teaches us to focus our thoughts and bodies to help relieve stress and promote relaxation even after the class has ended. Yoga can be a very complete workout which increases flexibility and strength, while incorporating breathing techniques that can be both energizing and calming.
Qigong is a very old practice from China, similar to Tai Chi, which uses simple, natural movements to reduce the effects of stress, support the immune system, and improve balance, focus and memory.
This is a beginner's class for all abilities, combining Qigong, Brain Gym,
and some basic warm-ups and stretching. Donations for space use only.
Silver Sneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
An easy-going workout for older adults, Zumba Gold combines simple-to-learn dance steps with infectious Latin rhythms and other world music. The result is a safe cardio workout which includes toning and stretching to help range-of-motion and flexibility. As students learn new dance routines, the heart muscle is conditioned and the brain is exercised. Come and join the party and dance your way to vibrant health!
