Who is Eligible?

Any person living in the City of Newport or within the Lincoln County Library District (LCLD) is able to obtain a library card. We also have options for long-term and short-term visitors and residents without a fixed address.

How Do I Get One?

Stop by the library to fill out an application, or print one here prior to visiting the library. In addition to your completed application, we will need to see a photo ID and proof that you reside in Lincoln County.
  • A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under the age of 18.
  • We offer temporary cards for visitors for a fee of $5 per month or $49 per year.
  • Have a library card from another Oregon library? You may be eligible for a Passport Card with us.

How Much Does It Cost?

Library cards are FREE for residents of Newport and LCLD!

What Can I Do With It?

In addition to books, films, and magazines, we have computers, printers, scanners, and a fax machine available for public use. We lend fishing poles, Oregon Coast Aquarium passes, and internet hotspots. Online access to the The Oregonian, popular magazines, research and geneology databases, career support, and preparatory exams are among the numerous online resources available to cardholders. Our programs and events for youth, teens, and adults are educational and entertaining.

The Lincoln County Library District provides leadership to ensure equitable services and materials to the libraries and residents of the District. The District is comprised of all unicorporated areas of Lincoln County. Residents who live within the city limits of Yachats are welcome to obtain a fee-based library card.
