Youth Sports

3rd-6th Grade Volleyball

This program is a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals of volleyball and skill development. Kids will reach personal and team goals while having fun in the process. Registration is open to girls wanting to play on Newport and Toledo teams.

We are always in need of volunteer coaches! Please contact the Recreation Center if you are interested, (541) 265-7783.

  • Fee: $60 (scholarships are available as funds allow)
  • Late Fee: additional $15
  • Deadline: September 5th, 2021
  • Practices will be on weeknights.
  • Games will be held on Saturdays at various locations in Lincoln County

U10, U12, & U14 Youth Indoor Soccer

**Start date postponed due to mask mandate**

The league will consist of Saturday play starting at 4:30pm. The season will start by doing drills and skill building games followed by scrimmages. Starting in January, coaches will divide players into teams and play a normal league schedule. Starts in December and continues through February. Space is limited in each division.

Fee: $25.00 (Scholarships are available as funds allow)

1st-6th Grade Basketball

Youth enrolled in our basketball program get the opportunity to play games against teams from around Lincoln County. Practices are held on weeknights at various Newport locations and games are held on Saturday around the county. There will be a skills assessment for kids so teams can be divided evenly. Players are expected to attend all practices and games. Failure to do so may result in loss of playing time. 1st-2nd graders play on coed teams. 3rd graders and up are split into boy and girl leagues.

  • Saturday November 20th @ Newport Rec Center

    9:00am-10am 1st and 2nd Grade

    10:30am-12:00pm 3rd and 4th Grade

    12:30pm-2:00pm 5th and 6th Grade

  • Practices will be on weeknights. Practice times will depend on team assignment.
  • Games will be held on Saturday at various locations in Lincoln County

3-vs-3 Youth Basketball League

From a coaching point of view, the best way to develop a player is by putting them in situations where you have to play every aspect of the game. When playing in a 3-on-3 game, all offensive and defensive skills are needed for a player and team to have success.

  • Fee: $35 per player (Price includes 10-game guarantee. Must create your own team of 3-4 players)
  • Deadline: TBA
  • Divisions: 3rd-4th Grade Girls & Boys, 5th-6th Grade Girls & Boys, 7th-8th Grade Girls & Boys
  • Game will be held on Tuesday & Thursday at Newport Recreation Center from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
