Newport Public Library Hosts "Celtic Harps, Rare Instruments, and Wondrous Stories" with Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter

Newport, Oregon, April 22, 2024 – Newport Public Library is thrilled to announce an enchanting musical program, "Celtic Harps, Rare Instruments, and Wondrous Stories," featuring acclaimed artists Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 22, from 3:30 pm to 5:45 pm at the cozy fireplace in the Reading Room of Newport Public Library, located at 35 NW Nye Street.

Attendees will be treated to an extraordinary concert as Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter perform on two Celtic harps, the rare Swedish Nyckelharpa, Ukrainian Bandura, Cittern, and more. The duo will captivate the audience with a repertoire of traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland, intertwined with heartwarming original compositions and accompanied by engaging stories of humor and adventure.

Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter, both hailing from Oregon, are esteemed musicians known for their innovative approach to Celtic, Renaissance, and Swedish music on unique acoustic instruments. Formerly progressive rock musicians, they have garnered widespread acclaim for their performances at fine arts centers, theaters, and intimate venues across the United States and Europe. Audiences are spellbound by their blend of traditional and original music, combined with poignant narratives, promising a journey that will leave a lasting impression.

Lisa Lynne, a globally recognized multi-instrumentalist, has established herself as a prominent figure in the music industry with her original compositions featuring the Celtic Harp. Her music, released on labels such as Windham Hill/Sony, has consistently charted in the Top 10 and Top 20 on the Billboard New Age music charts. Beyond her musical endeavors, Lynne is renowned for her work in therapeutic music and educational programs, earning recognition from major media outlets including NBC, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.

Aryeh Frankfurter, a renowned Celtic harper and multi-instrumentalist, boasts a diverse musical background ranging from progressive rock violin to intricate Swedish folk and Celtic music. With 17 albums to his credit, Frankfurter's exceptional talents extend to composing and arranging for film and television scores. His mastery of the Celtic harp repertoire and dedication to learning rare instruments, such as the Swedish Nyckelharpa, have earned him acclaim as an artist of extraordinary abilities.
