City Parks Volunteers
The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Newport is undertaking an exciting new initiative that will help direct resources to maintaining our many city-owned parks and trails in Newport, and I’m hoping you’ll be a part of it.
Under the leadership of Newport Parks and Recreation staff, our department will be organizing volunteer beautification days in our city parks. These events will take advantage of the overwhelmingly generous spirit of volunteerism that pervades in our city. While goals and activities will vary from park to park, generally we will conduct landscaping activities like pulling weeds and trimming bushes, clean play equipment, remove trash and debris, plant trees and native plants and undertake any other cleanup and beautification needed in each location.
