Streets and Stormwater Division
With over 55 miles of streets to maintain, many unpaved, Newport’s Street and Stormwater Maintenance Division is kept busy year-round patching, grading, laying gravel, compacting, and otherwise repairing the many arterials, side streets, and alleys that compose Newport’s vehicle transportation grid. This division is also tasked with maintaining the city’s storm drain system. With our coastal weather and torrential downpours, the storm water system can at times become overwhelmed with massive amounts of rainwater. Our small but dedicated crew knows how important these infrastructures are to our customers. Customers can always use the “Service Request” option on the Public Works website to send us information about issues that are of concern. |
